Regarding your points, Child Member Adapter object creation is necessary to avoid data fluctuating. Yes, we can use things like shared view pool, DiffUtil/ ListAdapter for more optimized/smooth RV.
As this was a beginner guide i wanted to make it as simple as possible, so that new learner can just create it now and optimize it later :)
